1. Send Porting Request

• Send an SMS: PORT <your 10-digit mobile number> to 1900 from your Vodafone postpaid number.
• You will receive a Unique Porting Code (UPC) via SMS from Vodafone. This code will be valid for a limited time, usually 4 days.

2. Visit an Airtel Store

• Take the UPC, your postpaid bill (if needed), and identity documents such as Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License to an Airtel store or authorized retailer.
• Request a new Airtel Prepaid connection with porting.

3. Fill Out Porting Form

• Fill out the porting application form provided at the store.
• Submit the necessary KYC documents (proof of identity and address).

4. Clear Any Outstanding Dues

• Make sure all outstanding dues are cleared on your Vodafone postpaid account. Your porting request may be rejected if you have pending payments.

5. Receive Airtel SIM

• Once the porting request is accepted, Airtel will issue you a new prepaid SIM card.
• You will get an SMS indicating the date and time when the porting will be completed, usually within 4 to 7 working days.

6. Activation of New SIM

• After the porting process is completed, your Vodafone SIM will stop working, and the Airtel prepaid SIM will get activated.
• Insert the new SIM into your phone and follow any on-screen instructions for activation.

Notes:

• Ensure your Vodafone postpaid account has been active for at least 90 days before porting.
• There might be a nominal porting charge.
• During the porting process, there might be no network coverage for a few hours when the switch is happening.
